I am not influenced by any other comments because I haven't read them yet - but I like her. She is "everyday". She is not like the others, but quite familiar and "comforting" in her manner... She is not pretentious and I feel she would be a very good friend, too.
Love her Love her Love her...every curve and bump that lets the rest of us know its ok to look like a woman for Gods sake!!...oh, and I love the cooking too!
Used to be a shaky yah when I was younger and made to feel inadequate by her domestic goddessness but now it is a BIG FAT YAY. She is also not as slim as she used to be but then nor am I, LOL. I share her passion for food and I find her 'feast ' cookbook an enjoyable read for a cookbook and a whole chapter on choc cakes ....bliss
Absolutely yay. She appeals to both men and women. I like that she's a normal size, how she sloshes stuff about and licks her fingers (okay, that's gross), makes kind of a mess and loves her kids to pieces. My husband used to watch her with a kind of admiration (lust, more like it) when she was on TV, especially when she hacked a chicken. "Surgery" she called it. She seems like she has a strong constitution.
She seems to be doing an impression of Ronnie Ancona doing an impression of Nigella..I like her recipies but enough with the coying and pouting...at least she's realised that normal people don't cook wearing denim jackets.
Still a yay for me though!
I can't say Yay or Nay. I love Nigella - love her show, love her accent, love her love of food. I have 4 of her cookbooks and every recipe I've made has been undesirable to my taste. But still, I go on loving her. LOL
Oooh errrr, I adore her. I've made those muffins several times recently (she calls them "breakfast (!) muffins in "Feast".
Haven't been rapt in the past couple of TV shows, I think the fun's gone out of it for her.
NAY!!!!!!
Her recepies are rank and she has to be one of the most contrived tv chefs going. Don't even start me on her doomed attempt at being a chat show host. Oh...what's that, the sound of tumbleweed? Gary Rhodes-immaculate chef, Rick Stein-natural and earthy, MPW-charismatic and uber-talented. But the worst is the snorefest that is Delia...Zzzzz....Of course Nigella didn't get where she was because of nepotism or being easy on the eye.
I adore Nigella. She's been through absolute hell in her personal life (lost mother and sister and first husband to hideous cancer deaths) and remains elegant and articulate. Above all she seems to be a protective and nurturing mother. I have all her books and reread them constantly.
A Definite YAY!! I do love her show and books, everything she ever makes is very comforting whether its chocolate chip muffins or a pot roast! Now I need to go make some muffins ;)
Yay! But she is a bit annoying, some of her pouty look and eating enjoyment seem a bit false on the new show. That said I will of course watch every episode and repeats on the food channel!
Yay! I am wondering why you are asking? Do you have mixed feelings? I'd love to know what they are. But she does make everything look so easy and wonderful.
This is actually the first time I've ever heard of Nigella. I looked on her website and learned more about her. Hurray for *another* domestic goddess. I like this video of hers. I don't think I've ever heard of the actual preparing of "comfort food" as being "comfort cooking". What a nice thought - makes the whole process an act of love.
She lovely isnt she - everything i have made of hers has turned out great - I love the granola receipe from Feasts. I cant get her show here in the US - she was on but then not again. love her though.
Yay, yay, yay! I think she is fab! I loved the first episode of her new series and will definitely putting the book(I'm hoping there will be one) on my Christmas wish list.
Yay! But I think they are trying too hard on the new show on Food TV . . . the oooh's, mmmm's and sighs seem greatly increased from the original shows. That being said, I love Nigella, I tape her show faithfully, and I have all her books . . .
Love Nigella! I have made that recipe before. It is heavenly:)

Yumm...I mean Yay!
An ice cream scoop to dish out the batter. Neat idea. I use a ladle.
Someone asked why she isn't fat. I suspect she doesn't eat as much product as she makes out to. Ha!
