Restoring Aluminium:- Stained Aluminium pans can be brightened by stewing apples in them.

For A Hygenic Dustbin:- Each time the dustbin is emptied, swill it out with hot water, infused with lavender oil, then place a clean newspaper in the bottom. This prevents leakages from your binbag coming into contact with the base of the bin amd makes sure the contents are always completely emptied.

Slimy Sponges:- Bring slimy sponges back to life by soaking them overnight in boiling hot water to which the juice of a lemon and a spoonful of white vinegar have been added.

For Burnt Saucepans:- Saucepans that have been burnt during cooking should be filled with hot salty water and left for a while to soak. The burnt deposit should thereafter peel away easily.

To Prevent Teacloth Stains:- A lump of sugar put in the teapot will prevent tea staining damask, should it be spilled.

*

To Remove Rust:- Salt and lemon juice mixed together will make rust vanish!

Shooing Flies: Very strong, cold, green tea sweetened and set about the room in saucers atrracts flies and destroys them.

Longer Life For Cut Flowers:- Cut flowers will last longer if a crushed aspirin is added to the water.

Discoloured Vases: Glass vases which have developed unsightly brown stains can be revived by swooshing a mixture of white vinegar and tealeaves around inside.

Gilt Frames:- To clean a gilt frame, rub it with a cut lemon, then sponge with a pint of water to which a spoonful of baking soda has been added.

To Season Baking Tins:- New baking tins should be rubbed over with lard and put into a moderate oven for twenty minutes. then rub off the grease with paper towel and do not wet. this prevents rust and toughens the tin.

Non- Slip Floor Polish:- Equal quantities of linseed oil and turpentine make a good none slip polish for floors.
